Who we are
Velocity Advisory Limited (company number 17426729, registered office 41 Hillside Avenue, Wembley, HA9 8DY), trading as LearningLens, is the controller of the personal data described in this notice. Contact us at privacy@getlearninglens.com.
What this notice covers
This notice covers visitors to our website, people who contact us, and the analytics we collect about how school staff use LearningLens.
It does not cover the records your school keeps in LearningLens, such as pupil evidence. Your school controls those, and we handle them only on its instructions. Ask your school for its privacy notice.
What we collect and why
- Website visitors: IP address, device and browser details, the pages you visit and how fast they load. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests: running, securing and improving the site.
- Staff using LearningLens: usage events (such as which screens you open and whether a save worked), error reports and screen recordings, linked to your work email, name, role and school. Your school gives us these details when it sets up your account; usage data comes from your browser. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests: finding problems and improving the product.
- People who contact us or book a walkthrough: your name, email, school and what you tell us. We use it to reply and to arrange the call. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests: responding to enquiries.
Our analytics is designed to keep pupil data out, and never records photos or videos. Error reports may include internal record numbers, but not names.
We do not use your data for automated decisions that affect you.
Cookies and similar storage
- Strictly necessary: a sign-in cookie keeps you signed in. It expires within 24 hours, or when you sign out.
- Analytics: our analytics provider stores cookies or similar data in your browser to count visits and recognise a returning session. By signing in to LearningLens you agree to this. If you would rather we did not, email privacy@getlearninglens.com and we will stop collecting analytics about you.
We do not use advertising cookies.
Who receives your data
We use Vercel and Supabase to host the platform, PostHog (EU) for analytics and Google Workspace for email. They act for us under contract and may use the data only to provide their service to us.
We use Google Calendar for booking calls, as set out in Google's privacy policy.
We do not sell personal data, and we share it otherwise only where the law requires.
Where data is kept
We store personal data in the UK and EU. Transfers to the EU are covered by UK adequacy regulations. Some providers may also access data from outside the UK and EU:
- Vercel, PostHog and Google, from the US, under the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework (the UK–US data bridge).
- Supabase, from Singapore and elsewhere, under the EU standard contractual clauses with the UK's International Data Transfer Addendum.
You can ask us for a copy of these safeguards.
How long we keep it
- Analytics data, logs and screen recordings: up to 30 days.
- Enquiries: up to 2 years after we were last in touch.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal data, or to restrict how we use it. Email privacy@getlearninglens.com. We will reply within one month. For data your school controls, ask your school.
You can also object to any of this processing; we will stop unless we have compelling grounds.
You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at any time, though we would welcome the chance to put things right first.
Changes
We will update this page when anything changes. Our terms of use set out the rules for using LearningLens.
